Top Link News respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users and partners to do the same. This policy outlines our procedures for responding to claims of copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. Section 512.

How Top Link News Works

Top Link News is a news aggregator. We display headlines and brief excerpts pulled from publicly published RSS feeds provided voluntarily by news organizations. We link directly back to the original source article on the publisher's own website.

We do not reproduce full articles. We do not host news content on our servers. All content linked from our site remains hosted on and owned by the original publisher.

If you are a publisher and do not wish your RSS feed content to appear on Top Link News, please contact us at linkup@toplinknews.com and we will remove your feed promptly — typically within 48 hours.

Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe that content appearing on Top Link News infringes your copyright, you may submit a written DMCA takedown notice. To be valid under the DMCA your notice must include all of the following:

Required Information for a Valid DMCA Notice

Your identification — Your full legal name, address, telephone number, and email address as the copyright owner or authorized representative.

We will acknowledge receipt of your notice within 5 business days and take appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to the allegedly infringing content, within 48 hours of verification.

Warning: Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be subject to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. Please ensure your claim is accurate before submitting.

Our Response to Takedown Notices

Upon receipt of a valid DMCA takedown notice we will:

  1. Acknowledge receipt within 5 business days
  2. Review the notice for completeness and validity
  3. Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content within 48 hours of verification
  4. Notify the affected party (if applicable) that content has been removed
  5. Document the notice in accordance with DMCA requirements

Counter-Notification Procedure

If you believe content was removed from Top Link News as a result of a mistake or misidentification you may submit a counter-notification. Your counter-notification must include:

Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA and other applicable laws Top Link News maintains a policy to terminate or block access in appropriate circumstances of users or publishers who are repeat infringers of copyright.

Publisher Opt-Out

If you are a news publisher and prefer that your RSS feed content not be displayed on Top Link News you do not need to file a formal DMCA notice. Simply email us at linkup@toplinknews.com with your publication name and feed URL and we will remove it within 48 hours. We respect publisher preferences and will honor all opt-out requests promptly.
